Begin with a cultural visit to a Maasai community near Monduli, before entering the elephant-rich landscapes of Tarangire National Park. Continue to Mto wa Mbu for a guided walk through farms, markets and artisan workshops, then finish with a game drive inside the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.
It is a compact journey for travellers who want their safari to reveal not only Tanzania’s wildlife, but something of the life and culture surrounding it.Â

DAY ONE · MONDULI
An Introduction to Maasai Life
After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel towards a traditional Maasai community near Monduli for the cultural beginning of your journey.
Spend time with members of the community and learn about aspects of Maasai life, including traditional homes, customs, dress and dance. Rather than beginning immediately with wildlife, the day offers a different introduction to northern Tanzania through one of its best-known pastoral cultures.
After the visit, return to Arusha for dinner and your overnight stay at Karibu Heritage House.

DAY TWO · TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Among Elephants & Baobabs
After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel approximately 120 kilometres south towards Tarangire National Park.
Spend the day exploring a long, varied landscape shaped by the Tarangire River, an important source of water for wildlife during the dry season. The park is especially known for its large elephant populations and magnificent baobab trees, while giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and lions are among the animals regularly encountered.
After your game drive, leave the park and continue to Fig Tree Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY THREE · MTO WA MBU
A Walk Through Local Life
After breakfast, travel to the vibrant town of Mto wa Mbu for a guided cultural walking experience.
Explore local farms and banana plantations, wander through markets and visit artisan workshops while learning about the many communities that have made the area home. Along the way, there is an opportunity to interact with residents and sample locally prepared banana beer.
The experience concludes with a traditional Swahili lunch prepared by a local family before returning to Fig Tree Lodge for your final evening.Â

DAY FOUR · NGORONGORO CRATER
Into Africa’s Natural Amphitheatre
Your final day takes you into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, an immense volcanic caldera surrounded by walls rising approximately 600 metres above the crater floor.
Descend into this remarkable landscape for a game drive through one of Tanzania’s most wildlife-rich environments. The crater supports lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, elephants, hippos and black rhinos among its diverse resident wildlife.
After exploring the crater and enjoying lunch, climb back into the highlands and begin your journey to Arusha or continue directly to the airport, bringing your four-day adventure to an end.Â
