Welcome to Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, where your private driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you to Mount Meru Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day is yours to relax or discover a little of Arusha, from colourful local markets and artisan centres to the city’s relaxed streets beneath Mount Meru. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a peaceful first evening in Tanzania.

DAY TWO · TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Among Elephants & Baobabs

After breakfast, leave Arusha behind and travel south through the countryside to Tarangire National Park. Spend the day exploring a landscape shaped by ancient baobab trees, open savannah and the Tarangire River. The park is particularly celebrated for its large elephant herds, while giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and an impressive variety of predators and birdlife complete the scene. Enjoy your game drive and lunch in the wilderness before continuing to your lodge for a relaxed evening.

With no need to rush onward, your guide can follow wildlife movements and seek out the day’s most rewarding encounters. The Seronera area is renowned for excellent year-round wildlife viewing, particularly big cats, with opportunities to encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and abundant plains game. Pause for a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your afternoon safari.
