Experience the diversity of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit on a private five-day journey connecting Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
Begin among Tarangire’s baobabs and elephant herds before discovering the contrasting forests, wetlands and lakeshore habitats of Lake Manyara. From there, journey into the legendary Serengeti for game viewing across its vast plains, before continuing into the Ngorongoro highlands.
Your final morning brings you down onto the floor of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an extended game drive before returning to Arusha. Private guiding and a dedicated 4×4 allow the journey to unfold at a comfortable, personal pace.

DAY ONE · TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Among Elephants & Baobabs
After an early breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park and spend the day exploring its distinctive wilderness with a picnic lunch along the way.
Tarangire is particularly celebrated for its large elephant populations and the river that becomes an important gathering point for wildlife during the dry season. Across the surrounding plains, look for wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, impalas, gazelles and other wildlife as your guide navigates through the park.
Later in the afternoon, leave Tarangire and continue to Kankari Lodge for dinner and your first night on safari.

DAY TWO · LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Between Forest, Springs & Lake
After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a day exploring one of northern Tanzania’s most varied compact wildernesses.
The park brings together acacia woodland, groundwater forest, swamps, hot springs, dramatic cliffs and the lake itself. This variety supports abundant birdlife and wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hippos and large troops of baboons.
Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, adding another intriguing possibility to the day’s game drive. Return to Kankari Lodge later for dinner and your second overnight stay.

DAY THREE · SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Into the Endless Plains
Today, journey into the legendary Serengeti for a day dedicated to exploring one of Africa’s greatest wildlife ecosystems.
Across the vast plains, search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos and abundant antelope. The Serengeti is also home to the immense herds of wildebeest and zebra that make up the Great Migration, although their location changes naturally throughout the year with rainfall and grazing conditions.
After your game drive, settle into Safari Haven Serengeti Camp inside Central Serengeti for dinner and a night surrounded by the wilderness.Â

DAY FOUR · SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO
From the Plains to the Highlands
Rise early for another game drive across the Serengeti, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours to search for wildlife including lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards and plains game.
After brunch, begin your journey towards Ngorongoro, enjoying further wildlife viewing as you make your way out of the Serengeti. The immense plains gradually give way to the cooler, elevated landscapes of the Ngorongoro highlands.
Arrive later in the day at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, located close to the crater, for dinner and your final night in the wilderness.

DAY FIVE · NGORONGORO CRATER
Into Africa’s Natural Amphitheatre
After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for approximately six hours of game viewing.
Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, hyenas and, with some luck, the endangered black rhino. Around midday, pause for a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok Spring before continuing your final game drive.
Later, ascend from the crater and begin the return journey to Arusha via Mto wa Mbu. You will be dropped at your Arusha hotel or the airport, bringing your five-day safari to an end.
