Each year, the Great Migration gathers across the fertile plains of Ndutu and the southern Serengeti, creating one of the most extraordinary chapters in the wildebeest’s endless journey.
This private four-day safari is designed around the calving season, taking you directly from Arusha through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Ndutu. Here, the open plains become home to immense herds of wildebeest and zebra, while the abundance of young animals creates exceptional opportunities for predator sightings.
From Ndutu, continue into Central Serengeti for another day among Tanzania’s iconic wildlife before completing the journey with a descent into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, where you have the opportunity to search for the Big Five.

DAY ONE · ARUSHA TO NDUTU
Into the Calving Grounds
After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel through the dramatic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Ndutu in the southern Serengeti ecosystem.
As you approach the plains, the landscape opens into vast stretches of acacia-dotted savannah. During the calving season, this region becomes one of the focal points of the Great Migration, with wildebeest and other plains game gathering across the nutrient-rich grasslands.
Begin your first wildlife viewing as you enter the Ndutu area, taking in the remarkable scale of the ecosystem before continuing to your tented camp for dinner and your first night in the wild.

DAY TWO · NDUTU TO CENTRAL SERENGETI
Following the Migration
Today is dedicated to exploring the migration landscapes between Ndutu and Central Serengeti.
Depending on current wildlife movements, your guide may spend most of the day searching the Ndutu plains or divide the day between Ndutu and Central Serengeti. This flexibility allows the safari to respond to where wildlife activity is strongest rather than following a rigid schedule.
As you continue north, the landscape transitions into the classic Serengeti, home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes and abundant plains game.
Later, arrive at your tented bush camp inside Central Serengeti for dinner and an evening surrounded by the wilderness.

DAY THREE · CENTRAL SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO
One Last Morning on the Plains
Begin early with breakfast before heading back onto the Central Serengeti plains for another morning of game viewing.
Spend the first part of the day searching for wildlife across the Serengeti before stopping for a picnic lunch. Afterwards, begin the journey south, enjoying further wildlife encounters as you gradually leave the park and travel towards the Ngorongoro highlands.
Arrive at your lodge outside Ngorongoro for dinner and a relaxed final evening before the following morning’s crater descent.

DAY FOUR · NGORONGORO CRATER
Into Africa’s Natural Amphitheatre
After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for the final wildlife experience of your journey.
Explore the crater floor in search of its remarkable resident wildlife. Lions, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, elephants, hippos and hyenas inhabit the varied habitats within the caldera, while Ngorongoro is particularly important for sightings of the endangered black rhino.
After lunch, continue your game drive before climbing back into the highlands and beginning the journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening.Â
